Understanding different Ice Skating Sessions

Knowing the difference between a Public Skating session and a Figure Skating (Freestyle) Session is very important.  During Public skating, which is provided by BodyZone, the ice time is open to the public and the flow of skaters is around the rink.  Please review information about Public Skating at BodyZone for more information.

Figure Skating (Freestyle) Sessions allow for a variety of patterns to run across the ice; skaters have the freedom and space to practice moves that are not safe for public skating sessions such as jumps and spins. Freestyle sessions are provided by the Reading Figure Skating Club.RFSC purchases ice time from Body Zone Sports & Wellness to provide a 6-day/week freestyle schedule for its members to practice and take private lessons.  Guest skaters are currently welcome to attend our sessions as long as they meet our minimum level requirements and agree to follow our Ice Use & Safety Rules. New guest skaters must register with our Ice Monitor who will review our policies with you.
